4-vehicle car crash in Bradenton caused by drowsy motorist

Motorists in Florida must take certain measures to ensure they are not putting other drivers or themselves at risk for car accidents and injuries. Besides engaging in proper driving techniques, maneuvers and extending proper road courtesies, they should remain fully aware and alert of their surroundings and actions at all times. People who drive while they are tired pose a serious threat to others.

Recently, a four-vehicle car accident occurred in Bradenton that resulted in two people being injured. One of them was a passenger who was traveling in one of the cars. That person sustained minor injuries and had to be transported to the Blake Medical Center for treatment. It was not stated what those injuries were.

The driver who caused the accident is a 50-year-old woman who is now facing a careless driving charge because of her actions in the incident. The female motorist’s vehicle was overturned after she crashed into the left rear side of a car being driven by a 44-year-old local man. Her car had drifted into the right lane of the intersection after she had fallen asleep while driving. She sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to Blake Medical to be treated. The woman’s vehicle also hit two other cars that were at the intersection.

Drowsy driving does not just happen when a driver is asleep. It can also occur when a motorist is driving while tired and unfocused on the road. Sleepy drivers tend to exhibit compromised driving judgment and decision-making capabilities, slower reaction times and more driving errors than motorists who are not drowsy or sleepy. Since car accidents of any kind can have far-reaching consequences, some people find that it is beneficial for them to discuss their situation with an attorney.
